Keith Guther, ChFC, AAMS
LPL Registered Principal, Chief Executive Officer

With over 20 years of experience providing financial services, Keith brings his clients a high level of expertise.  His designation as a Chartered Financial Consultant marks him as one of the most highly trained investment professionals in the field.  His expertise combined with his genuine desire to help others and his commitment to service, leads to the high-level satisfaction that his clients experience.

In the early 1990s, Keith became increasingly interested in the world of finance, seeing the importance of wise financial planning.  He learned that he had a penchant for understanding complex situations, a capacity for remembering detailed information, and a talent for explaining things clearly to others.  He decided to combine these abilities with his interest in finance and his desire to help others by becoming a financial advisor.

Keith began working with Sirak Financial Services in Canton, OH, in 1993, building a group of clients who appreciated his very personal and thorough approach to the planning process.  Many of those clients are still with him today.  Having already completed college and graduate school, Keith began rigorous study of advanced financial planning, tax law, and estate planning and was awarded the designation of Chartered Financial Consultant by the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA, in 1999.  He was recruited that same year by Edward Jones to open an investment office in Prescott, Arizona.  In Prescott, Keith’s client load grew rapidly and Edward Jones presented him with their Winners Circle Award in 2000, Pacesetter Award in 2001, and Century Award in 2003.*
Keith and his wife Barbara and their two sons, Troy and Jordan, settled on a small ranch in Dewey.  The business venture was going so well that they felt able to pursue another goal important to them – expanding their family, this time by adoption. In April 2003, they traveled to Russia to bring home their son Benjamin Viktor, age 9, and Natasha Nicole, age 6.  Integrating two orphaned children into their family has been a very rewarding adventure.

A year later, in 2004, Keith made the decision to take his office independent, establishing Guther Financial LLC at its current location at 2801 Willow Creek Road in Prescott.  In that year, he was certified as a registered principal with LPL Financial, qualifying him to manage a local office and supervise other investment advisors.  The decision to become an independent advisor allows him to offer a wider range of financial options to his clients with no pressure to sell proprietary products or conform to company incentives.

Besides discussing business, Keith and his clients often trade stories of family life, both challenges and accomplishments, and he has been privileged to work with multiple generations of many families as his clients trust him to work with their children, and with their elderly parents.   Keith has enjoyed getting to know the families of his clients and they, over the years, have watched his children grow and mature into the fine young adults they are today.  Now he has the added pleasure of spending time with two beautiful granddaughters.

Keith and his wife Barbara share in the desire to have a positive impact on the world around them.  They have both served on the West Yavapai Committee for Young Life and have enjoyed teaching church Sunday School classes.  They are also enthusiastic about supporting two children through child sponsorship with World Vision – a boy in Ecuador and a young girl in Africa.   Keith has coached church softball and enjoys playing basketball and other games with his children.  He and Barbara love to hit the trails in Arizona on their bicycles and ATVs.  They also enjoy attending and supporting fine arts activities in Prescott.

*Winners Circle Award – based on outstanding sales and service.  Pacesetter Award – recognizes financial advisors who achieve high levels of success early in their careers.  Century Award – outstanding performance during 2003.

Greg Sheehan, AAMS
Investment Advisor | LPL Financial Advisor

With a business administration degree, a minor in mathematics, and over 15 years working in the business world, Greg brings a sharp analytical mind to our financial services business. He has combined that with advanced training in financial planning as an Accredited Asset Management Specialist and a heart-felt desire to serve the best interest of his clients.

Greg was born and raised back east, spending most of his formative years in southern Georgia. He graduated from Presbyterian College in South Carolina with a B.S. degree in business administration and minors in both mathematics and music. After college, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, with some friends and tried to make a go of it in the music business. That didn’t work out as planned so he decided to get a real job.

Greg spent over five years in 401(k) plan administration and another four years as a technical analyst in the finance department for CIGNA Medicare. He left CIGNA to work for a distribution company which he managed for several years before joining Edward Jones as a financial advisor in 2014. During his time with Edward Jones, Greg earned the Ted Jones Prospecting Award, the Zeke McIntyre Pioneer Award (twice), and the Eagle Award. These awards are given for high achievement in developing client relationships and success in meeting the goals set forth for newer financial advisors.

In 2014, Greg and his family moved to Prescott and quickly found that they liked the lack of humidity and cool desert nights we have here. In 2016, they transferred to another Edward Jones office in Florida. While there, they enjoyed the beach, but not the humidity or the bugs. They moved back to Arizona in 2017 and Greg left Edward Jones to join Guther Financial in October of that year.

Greg’s main desire as a financial advisor is to get to know his clients, make a personalized plan for them, and to partner with them along the way to help them meet their financial goals.

Family time is very important to Greg, so he and his wife Katie are frequently involved in the activities and sports events of their four children at Trinity Christian School in Prescott. Greg enjoys the outdoors, participating on the worship team at Chino Valley Family Church, the beach (which is a little harder to find in Arizona) and sweet tea.

Kerry Carrillo
Client Services Manager

Kerry is the indispensable manager of our client services. Known for her very calm, friendly and efficient manner, she keeps our office running smoothly on a daily basis, providing both client services and administrative support. Kerry was born and raised in Dallas, TX, later making her home in Prescott, AZ. She began working with Keith at Edward Jones and we were delighted when she was then able to join us at Guther Financial and LPL Financial. We are pleased when she tells us that she genuinely loves her job.

Education is very important to Kerry. She has earned an associate’s degree in veterinary medicine and has both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in holistic nutrition. She has also successfully completed the three training programs that LPL Financial offers that are designed to enhance performance, productivity, and efficiency.

As if a full-time job isn’t enough, Kerry also works part-time at a stained-glass studio. In her spare time…she likes to cook, crochet, make jewelry, read and go camping. She and her husband Dave enjoy spending time with their 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

Katie Sheehan
Client Services Administrator

When Greg Sheehan joined our staff in 2017, he brought with him the talents of his wife Katie to serve as a Client Services Administrator. With great organization skills and a strong commitment to meeting the needs of our clients, Katie is doing a fantastic job in her role.

Katie was born and raised in western Michigan. Growing up, she trained horses and competed in barrel riding and showmanship (Western and English riding). She attended Kendall College of Art and Design with an emphasis in interior design and fine arts and also received certification as a pet groomer which led to working at a veterinarian clinic for 13 years. She initially moved to Prescott around 12 years ago and, though life has taken her to other places along the way, she loves Arizona and Prescott in particular and is happy to be back here.

She and Greg have five children, four of whom attend Trinity Christian School in Prescott (the fifth is married and finishing nursing school in Nashville, TN). Katie loves volunteering to help with the kids’ classes at school, hiking, arts, and animals. She also helps with the children’s ministry at Chino Valley Family Church.

Janiece Saxton
Client Services Adminstrator

Since 2015, Janiece has served an indispensable role as our backup Client Services Administrator. She is in the office whenever Kerry is gone elsewhere and at times when extra service work is needed. Janiece was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but moved with her parents and siblings to Glendale, Arizona, for her mom’s health. Janiece graduated from junior college in Glendale. In 1974, she started working for Valley National Bank as a teller and worked her way up to Project Manager, helping to coordinate the conversions to Bank One, then to Chase Bank. In 2005, she and her husband Ron moved to Prescott where she worked part-time as a bank teller.

Having a life-long love of sewing, in recent years Janiece started making purses and other things from jeans. She began participating in the craft show held in their community clubhouse twice a year which is where she met our Client Services Manager, Kerry. When we needed another Client Services Administrator, Kerry knew that Janiece would do very well in the role.

Ron has two grown children, with the recent addition of a grandson in 2013. Both Janiece and Ron, aka ‘Grandma & Grandpa’, love spending time with this precious little one, often volunteering to ‘watch’ him as often as possible, when she is not filling in for Kerry in the office.

Barbara Guther
Events Coordinator

Although she is not an employee of Guther Financial or LPL Financial, Barbara organizes our client seminars and social events. She likes organizing these activities and especially loves her ongoing contact with our many long-term clients at our events. Our clients have become like extended family to her.

Barbara hails from Ohio where she met Keith while they both were in graduate school. With a degree in psychology and counseling, she provided psychotherapy services in private practice before moving to Arizona in 1999. Since then, she has been actively involved with helping Keith in our business, first with Edward Jones, then at our current independent office.

Besides helping out with office events, Barbara has kept busy raising their four children who are now young adults. She homeschooled the children for six years and is delighted that all four have gone on to college. Now she is especially enjoying time with her two young granddaughters. In her spare moments, she loves photographing her family and the fabulous scenery in the Southwest, and likes reading sci-fi and fantasy literature by writers like Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. She also enjoys attending our local fine arts activities.
